Data Analyst (The Pentagon)

ARServices is seeking a Data Visualization Analyst to join our team. This professional will be a member of a team to provide professional, technical, and administrative support to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) staff. Specifically, the Data Visualization Analyst will provide on-site expertise and support as part of a Knowledge/Information Management and Analysis team. The team will analyze existing organizational information processes, communications processes, financial data, and tasking/priority processes in order to enhance capture and management of knowledge and information within and outside the organization. The position is located at The Pentagon, Arlington, VA.

Principal Duties

  • Work collaboratively with project teams, end users/stakeholders to understand business objectives and requirements
  • Leverage analytics and visualization tools to present information in a way that drives Executive-level fact based decision making
  • Develop analytical reports and represent large, complex sets of data through visual representation.
  • Generate, validate, and maintain analytical reports and visualizations from a variety of sources
  • Develop new deliverables as needed based on operational requirements and following best-practices for documentation and delivery
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities to improve OPNAV Knowledge/Information Management and Analysis; make recommendations based on findings

Position Requirements

  • Must hold minimum of SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Design, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related technical field
  • Experience with reporting, data management, or data analytics and visualization using market leading commercial and open source tools, including standard and ad-hoc reporting
  • Experience in data visualization using Tableau or a comparable BI tool.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships within teams and across the organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience presenting to multiple audiences (e.g., technical and non-technical, executive-level)
  • Knowledge of visualization/dashboard design techniques for data analysis and presentation
  • Creative thinker; strong analytical, multitasking, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of data science best practices, stemming from proven experience
  • Must be a data-driven problem solver

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Design, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field
  • Previous project or team member/leadership experience
  • Advanced knowledge of connecting to multiple data sources
